The experiments were carried out in Caçador and Fraiburgo (27° S), Santa Catarina State ? Brazil, from 2002 to 2004, using trees 12 years old on M7 rootstock, and 6 years old on Marubakaido rootstock with M9 inter stem. The treatments were foliar applications of Prohexadione Ca at the rates of 290, 580, 1160, and 2320 g ha-1. The first spry was made when shoots were from 15 to 25 cm long, and they were repeated at 30 and 60 days after the first application.
