Eventual differences among these clones besides fruit color are unknown. The aim of this study was to evaluate agronomic potential, fruit yield and quality some colored clones of Gala and Fuji and, three others apple cultivars in Cacador, Santa Catarina State, Brazil (26o46?31??S latitude, at 960 meters altitude). The experimental design was randomized blocks with 12 cultivars grafted on two rootstocks. The number and the fresh weight of fruits per cross-sectional area of the trunk were evaluated on the third grown season, while the fruit set on brindles, spurs and axillary buds, and the bloom index were evaluated on the fourth grown season. The highest fruit number per trunk area was observed on ?Brookfield?, ?Maxi Gala?, ?Fuji Suprema?, ?Royal Gala?, ?Daiane? and ?Imperial? Gala on ?Marubakaido? with ?M-9? inter-stock. When grafted on ?M-9?, Brookfield produced greater fruit number per trunk area than ?Braeburn?, ?Pink Lady? and ?Royal Gala?. The highest production per trunk area was observed on ?Fuji Suprema?, ?Brookfield?, ?Maxi Gala?, ?Daiane?, ?Gala Real?, ?Imperial Gala? and ?Mishima? on ?Marubakaido? with ?M-9? interstock. When grafted on ?M-9?, the greatest production per trunk area was on ?Fuji Select?, ?Brookfield?, ?Fuji Suprema?, ?Mishima?, ?Daiane? and ?Maxi Gala?. There were no differences among clones of ?Gala? on fruit size, regardless of rootstock. The same was observed for clones of ?Fuji?. In brindles and spurs the largest fruit set was observed on clones of ?Fuji? and the lowest fruit set was observed on clones of Gala, for both rootstocks. The axillary buds revealed a greater fruit set on ?Braeburn? followed by clones of ?Fuji?. However, it appears that the ?Daiane? and clones of ?Gala? achieved a higher bloom index in axillary buds compared to clones of ?Fuji?. aApple aBlooming aFruit quality aMa???? aMalus domestica aProdutivity aVariedade tIn: INTERNATIONAL HORTICULTURAL CONGRESS, 28., 2010, Lisboa.
