A field study was concluded for two years (1991 and 1992) near ames, IA, with the objective to identify the combination of soybean planting dates (pre-boot=PD1, boot=PD2 and post-boot=PD3 stage of wheat) asnd spatial arrangementes (SA) to maximize soybean grani yield. The SA for wheat (W) and soybean (S) rows were: 1W:1S, 2W:1S, 2W:2S; 3W:2S and 4W:3S. No significant differences in yield between years were observed for sybean but the wheat yield in 1992 was significantly different from 1991 (2941 vs 1043 kg/ha). The SA most efficient for wheat were 1W:1S and 2W:1S; and for soybean were 2W:2S AND 4W:3S. aGlicyne max aLER aMultiple cropping aTriticum aestivum aYield tIn: AGRONOMY ABSTRACTS: 1993 ANNUAL MEETINGS, 1993, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA.
