In the specific case of "peixe-rei" in which the ovules are obtained through stripping of naturally captured matrixes, it is very important to know its capacity of ovule production and relate it to this technic. With the objective of determining the relation among absolute fecundity, relative fecundity and the total number of oocytes obtained by stripping technic, the gonadal contents of 30 individuals, with a gonadassomatical index superior to 3 %, where studied; in other 30 individuals artificial fertilization was made using the stripping technic for the couting of releades number of oocytes.
