L. aComparative analysis of GEOGloWS and PM tank models for river flow forecasting in data-Sparse regions.h[electronic resource] c2025 aThe prediction of river flows is crucial for inputting data into coastal hydrodynamic models, especially in regions with limited observational data, such as South America. This study compares the performance of the GEOGloWS model (version 1, with 52 ensembles plus the quartile mean) and the PM Tank model in forecasting flows. Data from the Cubat??o do Sul River were used, and correction factors aligned observed and modelled data. The analysis focused on the complete flow series and events with significant precipitation. The results show that both models have distinct advantages depending on the scenario. GEOGloWS performed better in high precipitation events, while PM Tank was more accurate in predicting average daily flows. Combining both models is suggested as a promising strategy to improve forecast accuracy. This study enhances hydrological forecasting tools in datascarce regions, offering better insights for coastal water resource management aflow forecasting aHydrological models awater resources1 aOLIVEIRA, J.
