In addition to the enhanced resistance to phylloxera, grapevine rootstocks are known to confer resistance to various pathogens and tolerance to abiotic stresses. Moreover, rootstocks were found to regulate the size of the scion, to affect fruit development/ripening and to contribute to fruit quality. The objective of this work was to evaluate the influence of different rootstocks on the ecophysiology of Sauvignon Blanc grown in the highlands of southern Brazil. The experiment was carried out in the city of S??o Joaquim (28??16'30?S, 49??56'09?W; altitude 1,400 m a.s.l.), during the 2021 and 2022 vintages. The rootstocks evaluated were 101-14 Mgt, 3309 C, 110 R, 99 R, 1103 P, Kober 5BB, SO4, 420 A Mgt, Gravesac and IAC 766. Ecophysiological analyzes included assessments of vegetative development, productive indexes, physical characteristics of clusters and berries, technological and phenolic maturation. The rootstocks 1103 P and IAC 766 were related to higher concentration of total acidity, longer internode length and larger leaf area in the main and secondary shoots. The rootstocks Gravesac, 3309 C and 101-14, were related to an intermediate vegetative development, high concentrations of soluble solids, lower concentration of total polyphenols and an intermediate productive performance. Rootstocks 420 A Mgt and 110 R were related to high concentration of soluble solids, high cluster compactness, smaller leaf area and lower pruning weight. The rootstock 99 R was related to high productivity, lower vegetative development, greater vegetative/productive balance. Finally, the Kober 5BB and SO4 rootstocks, were related to high yields, heavier clusters and berries. aRootstocks aSauvignon Blanc1 aVOTRE, T.
