H. aGENETIC DIVERSITY FROM GERMOPLASM BANK OF AUSTRALIAN KING PALM.h[electronic resource] c2016 aThe knowledge of the genotypic variability is important since it allows the determination of the similarity between individuals of a population, which will be used as the basis in a breeding program. Therefore, the objective of this study was to identify the genetic diversity among 59 genotypes from germoplasm bank of australian king palm (Archontophoenix alexandrae) using ISSR markers. Four ISSR markers were used: UBC 834C, UBC 849C, UBC 849T and UBC 851T. The Jaccard coefficient was used to estimate the coefficient of similarity between the genotypes and the dendrogram was obtained by UPGMA, through the NTSYS 1.7 software. Genetic analysis showed that the similarity ranged from 0.42 (between genotypes 4 and 25) to 0.97 (between genotypes 14 and 15). It was possible to observe the formation of six groups when the dendrogram was cut in the similarity value of 0.7. The generated groups I, II, III, IV, V and VI were composed of 16, 1, 29, 1, 11 and 1 genotypes, respectively. The similarity of genotype 17, the only representative of group II, ranged from 0.50 to 0.78 (between the genotypes 7 and 19, respectively). For the genotype 18, the only representative of group IV, the similarity ranged from 0.50 to 0.79 (between the genotypes 13 and 19, respectively). About the genotype 22, the only representative of group VI, the similarity ranged from 0.50 (the genotypes 7 and 13) to 0.72 (the genotype 34), respectively. Therefore, based on the molecular markers used in this study, it was possible to register genetic variability among the evaluated genotypes. aArchontophoenix alexandrae aISSR aJaccard aSimilarity aUPGMA1 aPEREIRA, A.1 aC??RREA, L.
