A. aEvaluation of bud fertility in different cultivars of viniferous grapes in mountain regions of the Santa Catarina State.h[electronic resource] c2006 aThe new grape plantations in the coldest areas of the State of Santa Catarina have lack of information about the behaviour of viniferous cultivars in this region. The objective of this work was to evaluate the buds fertility of the cultivars Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Malbec in the region of Bom Retiro/Santa Catarina. The delineation used was completely casualized, with 4 repetitions, using 5 plants bv plot. It was also carried out bud analysis in laboratory, it was used 20 branch of each variety, seeking to identify the floral buds by stereoscope, determing the % of fertile buds in each knot. In field, the evaluations have began with the plants still dormancy, and in the first the total account of buds of the selected plants was made and after the sprouting were determined the percentages of fertile and vegetative buds. The results showed that on average the fertility varied from 55 to 90% in the analyzed cultivars. The fertility of the buds also varied according its location in the branch, and in the cultivars Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot the buds fertility of the first knot was the minor, varying around 40 to 55%, while in the buds of the second to the tenth knot it was higher, varying from 75 to 100%. The cultivars those had the greater fertility index were Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. abud analysis aCabernet Sauvignon aMalbec1 aRUFATO, L.1 aGOES, G.
