Evaluations occurred in S??o Joaquim, SC (28??17'38"S, 49??55'54"W, altitude 1,250 m asl). At different stages of the vegetative cycle Viviful?? (27.5% of Prohexadione-calcium) was applied. The experimental design was randomized blocks with 3 blocks, 4 replications and 10 plants per plot. To evaluate the vegetative growth were measured shoot length, internodes length, the number of buds per shoot and the leaf area (m2). Yield components evaluated were cluster number, bud fertility, yield, and leaf area: yield ratio. To evaluate grape composition analysis of total soluble solids, total acidity and pH were made. The application of Prohexadione-calcium reduces shoot growth of Cabernet Sauvignon. The largest growth reductions occur when sprays are made in full bloom and 30 days after full bloom. Concentrations below 250 ppm has little effect in controlling shoot growth of Cabernet Sauvignon. The application of Prohexadione-calcium reduces fruit set and yield when applied at the phenological stages of flower separating and full bloom. Different concentrations and spraying times of Prohexadione-calcium does not interfere in grape composition. ahigh altitude regions aVitis vinifera L aViviful??1 aBRIGHENTI, A. F.1 aMACEDO, T.
