Brazil is considered one of the biggest world producers and consumers of palm, where commercial production of australian king palm (Archontophoenix spp) is featured in Santa Catarina and Paraná states. In Santa Catarina, it is grown for about 1,700 farmers in an area of approximately 3,500 ha. This activity moves in the state, values around R$ 70 million annually and generates, approximately, 2,800 direct jobs. It has intensified studies with this palm as an alternative way to reduce the impact of exploitation of Euterpe edulis that is native to Brazil. Thus, the aim of this study was to estimate the genotypic values thirteen progenies to premium heart-of-palm yield. The progenies were evaluated in randomized block with six replicates and eight plants per plot. The harvest was 3.5 years after planting and data analysis weas performed with the SELEGEN. Phenotypic and genotypic values ranged from 146.31 up 285.74 and from 145.34 up 230.30, respectively. The genotypic value from progeny 13 differed statistically from of the progenies 9, 10 and 11. Do not statistical difference was detected among progenies 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12. The genotypic values should be preferred in the breeding program, as these are the real values to be predicted. Although they are not the same as true genetic values of individuals, the proximity between the two values can be evaluated based on accuracy - which refers to the correlation between the predicted and true breeding values of individuals. The accuracy in the thirteen progenies was of high magnitude, since their values were above 0.77. Therefore, there is variability among progenies being the progeny 13 and 10 the most and least productive, respectively.
